HOPE for North Port facilitates many programs and projects throughout the year to serve the disadvantaged in our city. Here are just a few examples of what we do.
free thanksgiving day meal
We provide a free meal to anyone in the community on Thanksgiving Day who may not have family or funds to celebrate the holiday, including many who are home-bound. For many years now, we have served over 1000 delicious, hot meals to members of our community on Thanksgiving Day.
Every year we help to collect, wrap and distribute Christmas gifts for disadvantaged children in our area. We partner with Beef O' Brady's in North Port to host a Christmas lunch with Santa, where we distribute the gifts to children and offer a picture with Santa. This past Christmas, we were able to bless over 500 children in our community with more than 1000 gifts.
Once a month we send out a team to share the love of Christ with some of our local seniors and give them some much appreciated company. We also organize special visits around the holidays, which include caroling and gifts, to spread holiday cheer to the elderly in our community.
mother's day outreach
We have partnered with Five Below in North Port the past couple of years to help less fortunate children purchase Mother's Day gifts to bless and honor their mothers. Through this outreach, we are able to help strengthen, heal, and empower families in our community.
Health and wellness fair
We host a quarterly FREE Health and Wellness Fair, providing members of our community with free health information, screenings, and education. We also serve a healthy lunch, free of charge, and host fun activities and giveaways.
